Christmas Presents

Our Vision

To assist families over the Christmas season with the cost of food and gifts.

Our Values

The Killarney and Area Foodbank believes that with choice comes dignity.

Our Mission

To provide families with the means and opportunity to make their own choices

and traditions by offering a gift card and voucher program.

Our Christmas Cheer program provides a unique way of gift-giving, where we collect money from generous donors and distribute gift cards from local businesses to each recipient. This allows us to truly share the 'cheer' of Christmas giving and support our local economy at the same time. We are grateful for all the support we receive from our community, which enables us to continue providing essential services to those in need.

At the Killarney and Area Foodbank, we understand the importance of spreading Christmas cheer to those in our community who are in need. We take great care in selecting the names of people who will receive our Christmas packages. We ensure that they are either existing clients of the foodbank or referred to us through others. Before we distribute the packages, we always reach out to the individuals or families to make sure they are comfortable with accepting them. We want to make sure that everyone in our community has a wonderful and enjoyable holiday season!

For years, our volunteers worked tirelessly to choose and wrap gifts for each family member starting in mid-November. We decided to change things up by giving our clients more autonomy, dignity, and choice.

Our new way of spreading Christmas cheer provides a unique way of gift-giving, where we collect money from generous donors and distribute gift cards from local businesses to each recipient. that can be used to select their own gifts of choice, This allows us to truly share the 'cheer' of Christmas giving and support our local economy at the same time.

We held a Christmas Open House in 2013 where we were able to spend time with those who attended and share some apple cider and Christmas cookies.

We are grateful for all the support we receive from our community, which enables us to continue providing essential services to those in need.
